Kogi Children and Me

Apparently, I soon discovered, word had gone around that I was a medicine woman, and before I knew it, I was receiving up to four patients a day for different ailments. Men, woman and children were coming to me to try the new magical medicines. I felt a tremendous amount of pressure, as I dearly wanted to help them if I could.

I started to realise I was having results when I would be woken up in the morning and frequently visited with gifts of food, avocados, pineapples, bananas from the tribe. Then, I was paid a visit from another Mama and his son from a nearby village. Apparently I had cured his son of chronic diarrhoea. He sat down in my hut and thanked me, he said to me "Please speak more, I want to hear what you have to say". I was speechless for a moment.
