Sunset Silhoettes Hut

Mama’s sister, Ursala was lovely. We arrived to see a goat come flying out of the large hut, followed closely by a cursing Ursala with her walking stick coming in close proximity to the goats fleeing bottom. I had to laugh. I liked her already. She noticed us, and a big welcoming smile appeared on her face. She took us into the hut and made us a mountain honey drink while introducing me to her large family. Finally she pointed out a small quiet child sitting near the doorway. She told me he was sick with diarrhoea and so had no energy to play or work.

That morning I had decided to take my small homeopathic kit with me, having no idea what to expect. I offered to treat the child with the homeopathics. Theresa glanced at Mama, who nodded, and she decided to accept my offer. I gave the boy one dose of belladonna and left it at that. A little while later we had dinner and settled down for the night.

I was awoken the next morning, as Theresa strode back into the hut and announced that I had good medicine, her grandchild was well. Mama asked me about the homeopathics and how they worked. I explained that they were natural and worked with the energies of the body. I described as much as I could about homeopathic with my limited vocabulary of Spanish. Mama slowly said "Very good" and then walked out of the hut. He had seemed very interested, so I was a little baffled when he abruptly disappeared from our conversation.

We said goodbye to Ursala, well, I said goodbye. I thanked her for her hospitality and we returned to Mamas village. On the way I asked Mama about greetings and farewells, as I had noticed, there was a lack of them. He told me that his people didn’t see farewells and greetings as necessary. We all walk the same path, even though it appears we go our separate ways.
